Welcome to the web site of Denise Ball and Aegis Dobermanns. 

Aegis Dobermann Kennel is located on 1 acre in the Kennel Area in Southern River, Western Australia.  A convenient 5 minute drive from the Canine Association Grounds in Southern River and 25 minutes from either Perth or Fremantle.

 I am a small kennel striving for excellence by building on the past for an even better future. 

We have imported semen from several top dogs in Canada & the USA.

We also imported Am/Can Ch Starlaine West Side Story - JJ - from the US.  

 JJ was released from Byford Quarantine Station on 26 March 2010.  He has settled into his new home extremely well.

His first litter was born January 2011. 

His second litter was born August 2011 and from that litter we have his first Australian Supreme Champion,  Sup Ch Aegis Dragon Tattoo. 

He has now sired over 20 Australian Champions plus 6 Supreme Champions and many champion grandchildren and now great grandchildren- many of them are BEST EXHIBIT IN SHOW winners with others pointed towards their titles from very limited use.

 
   

My aim is to breed happy healthy long living dogs that are sound of mind and body. 

Making up champions, although rewarding, is secondary to finding good homes and as such we do not have contracts requiring people to show their dogs if all they are looking for is a pet/companion. 

As much I would love to have more of my stock in the show ring, good homes are more important to me than titles.  I do welcome enquiries for show stock too.  Most puppies go to loving pet homes to people who simply want happy healthy long living dogs.

We don't need purchasers' testimonials plastered all over our website, our purchasers are obviously happy as some have been buying dogs only from us for over 25 years.

I bred my first litter under the Aegis prefix in 1990.

My 1st litter produced the dam of my first BEST IN SHOW winner of my breeding (and my 2nd champion).

My 2nd litter produced my 1st Champion - Ch Aegis Bold Enchantress - Lisa.  Lisa lived to over 13 years of age, as did most of her litter mates.  This is the norm not the exception with my breeding lines - longevity!!!

  I breed for myself - not for the pet market or to fill orders. 

I ALWAYS personally run on at least 1 puppy on from any litter I breed.  This is why I do not breed often - I just don't have the room for a multitude of dogs.

My puppies are born and raised in our house and are socialized with cats, other breeds of dogs and, of course, people.  As much I would love to have more of my stock in the show ring, good homes are more important to me than titles.

I have bred and/or owned multi BIS/BISS winning stock.

I have had many happy puppy purchasers come back for their 2nd puppy.  Some are now making arrangements for their 3rd (or 4th in 2 dog households) Aegis Dobermann.

   In January 2005  I became a partner in Belmanta Boxers with Liz Cartledge and Liza Cassidy and all future Boxer litters will be bred under the Belmanta prefix.

In 2012, I purchased my first French Bulldog.  That has grown to 3 and we hope to have our 1st litter in 2022.
