Due to the high demand for our puppies with orders being placed well in advance, reservations are strongly recommended. "There is no Psychiatrist in the world like a puppy licking your face." - Ben Williams I have to admit that purchasing a puppy from me is probably harder than adopting a child. And that is how it should be with every breeder!! I do not necessarily line breed as I believe in using the lines that are proven to be healthy long living lines. Line breeding can sometimes mean the doubling or tripling up on serious health and genetic problems. I first look at the bitch and ascertain what the stud dog needs to contribute to cement the bitch's attributes and to improve on where improvement is needed. I then look for a dog that will hopefully give me these attributes. Ideally, the chosen sire will have her attributes but will also improve on her weaknesses as they will also be his attributes and vice versa. I then look at the health of the ancestors of the dog and the dog himself and ensure that there are no "nasties" lurking in his ancestry and that he is from long living healthy lines. It is no good having gorgeous examples of the breed that drop dead at a young age. If this all comes together then, all going well, a mating will ensue. If this is a line breeding then that is bonus. This method appears to be working as I have dogs in loving pet homes that are celebrating their 13th or 14th birthdays and older. All of our litters are born and raised in our house in a dedicated room set up for their and their mother's needs. All Aegis Dobermann puppies have their dew-claws removed at 2-3 days of age, micro-chipped, vaccinated, de-wormed and have been vet checked since their birth at regular intervals (for my peace of mind) before leaving to go to their new homes. All Aegis Dobermann puppies are registered with Dogswest, pet/companions are on the Limited Register. If you pass the initial telephone interview (some have referred to this as the "inquisition") then you may be invited to come to our home (if this is possible) and meet us and our dogs (the adults). If you pass that muster, you will then be considered as a possible future owner of one of our precious babies. I reserve the right to refuse to sell to anyone I do not believe will be a RESPONSIBLE, CARING, LOVING owner who will also give the puppy a STABLE COMFORTABLE SECURE PERMANENT home for the rest of his/her life. These qualities mean different things to different people but these are MY babies and it is MY interpretation that counts, not the prospective buyers. I do not sell breeding stock unless the prospective buyer is willing to commit to an agreement of co-ownership with the breeder and to exhibiting the dog in the show ring. "But we want to breed a litter so we can get our money back" or "my mate has got a Rottie bitch and we wanted to mate her to a Dobe" will result in the telephone call being terminated abruptly. If you are not prepared to commit to this agreement, then please don't waste YOUR time, or MINE, by contacting me. ALL puppies sold as Pet/Companions on the Limit Register MUST BE spayed/neutered/vasectomised. A Desexing/Neutering/Vasectomising Agreement, drawn up by my solicitor, must be signed. If you are wanting to purchase a puppy purely as a Pet/Companion and/or Obedience dog, and you are not prepared to sign this agreement, then, again, please don't waste YOUR time, or mine, by contacting me. Puppies do not leave until after they are fully vaccinated (around 12 weeks of age). I will always personally run on at least one but not uncommonly two puppies from each litter that I breed. Yes I DO sell show dogs but just remember I breed for myself first and foremost and not every puppy in a litter (even though some will tell you differently) is a Show Quality puppy. I DO NOT and WILL NOT breed a litter based solely on orders for pet/companions. If at any time, owners of any of my puppies are unable to keep the puppy/dog, for whatever reason, I will ALWAYS have the puppy/dog back and house it until their circumstances change or re-home if necessary. If you believe that you might meet my expectations as someone who should be owned by one of my precious babies, please feel free to contact me by phone.
